Previously I was based in the Brussels bureau, where I covered Europe: Brexit, migration, terrorist attacks. I used to work in the EU institutions and I speak five languages.

Getting young people to vote in the European elections has always been a challenge, so MEPs have seized the initiative with a rap "battle" at the European Parliament in Brussels.

MEPs BACK PALESTINIAN STATEHOOD BID

If you are in Strasbourg for a European Parliament plenary session you are bound to run into a drinks reception at some point. This time, it was an event to celebrate the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah.
There was singing, a live band and an opulent buffet (kosher of course). The vice-president of the parliament even lit the special festival candelabra.

The leader of Italy's anti-establishment Five Star Movement, Beppe Grillo, has gone to the European Parliament (EP) to present his programme to get a referendum in Italy on leaving the euro "as soon as possible".
